Understanding SEO basics is important if your hope is to resell SEO services eventually or even starting next week. When you resell SEO, you rarely if ever have to actually do any work related to search engine optimization. That is left to the company offering the SEO reseller program you have recently joined or are considering joining. However, if you wish to be successful reselling SEO, you must understand these SEO basics.
One reason understanding SEO basics is so important is that it makes initial communication easier with clients. This includes the clients that you already have on your roster too. For existing clients, you can better communicate with them how SEO works through understanding SEO basics first. With new clients, you can more effectively pitch these services and programs. In other words, you communicate better when you understand SEO better.
Another reason understanding SEO basics is so vital is that you eventually will come to a point where someone will ask you a question and you will not have the provider around to answer it. It would be way more helpful for you as a reseller to answer the client right away rather than have to wait for the provider to get back to you. If you know about as much about SEO as your clients do, that is not good for your business. If, however, you understand it enough to talk about it in general conversation, you should get to provide answers when answers are necessary and when providers are not around to answer them.
A third reason understanding SEO basics is so crucial is that your reputation rides on what you offer as a business owner. Even though you resell this service and do not offer it directly yourself, no one other than you and the provider really know that. According to your clients, you know all there is to know about SEO. That is how it should be. They should think that you are very wise about this concept, whether they understand that you resell it or not.
A fourth reason understanding SEO basics is so critical is that you should at least have that thirst for knowledge. You are reselling something important, so you should want to know how it functions and gets results, right? Otherwise, you are just looking to make money. And that is not what SEO is all about. It is more about exposure for clients.
